We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence and Data Engineering Specialist to join our Innovation and Software Solutions team, composed of 25 specialists. The position is based at our Montreal office.

 

This role combines leadership, technical skills, innovation capacity, and change management. You will work closely with internal teams and our practices to transform and advance our data analytics solutions, leveraging your technical expertise and in-depth understanding of analytics solutions.

 

You will participate in managing the analytics team, setting up new dashboards, and maintaining existing dashboards and the data lake. You will also be involved in processing the data used to train our AI models. In addition, you will collaborate with the development teams of our business applications on the management of our SQL servers and relational databases.

Your mission:

Under the direction of the Head of the Innovation and Software Solutions practice, the selected individual will be called upon to:

 

  • Actively participate in carrying out our client and internal analytics projects by collaborating at each stage, such as needs analysis, feasibility assessment, pricing, implementation, and testing.
  • Develop and maintain robust automated ETL pipelines to ensure seamless exchanges between systems on a recurring basis and to make our business users autonomous.
  • Model, create, and maintain OLAP databases, ensuring their upkeep, performance, and security.
  • Develop high-performance, visually appealing Power BI dashboards.
  • Ensure the data lake is kept up to date and evolves, maintaining its upkeep, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with the AI team by handling the processing of data used for model training.
  • Model, create, and maintain OLTP databases, ensuring their upkeep, performance, and security.
  • Work in collaboration with the development teams of our business applications.
  • Analyze and optimize queries so that databases respond quickly, even with large volumes of data

Requirements

The ideal applicant must hold a relevant degree, such as a graduate degree in computer science, business intelligence, or a related field, and demonstrate the following competencies:

 

  • Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in the field, including at least one year in a team management role.
  • Hold relevant Microsoft certifications (Fabric Analytics Engineer and Fabric Data Engineer).
  • Master the following languages, platforms, and software:
    • Advanced knowledge of data engineering (ETL) and various file formats (CSV, txt, JSON, parquet, Delta Lake, etc.).
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server, TSQL language, SSAS, OLAP concepts, and DAX language.
    • Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Notebooks, Python language and relevant libraries.
    • Data modelling and Erwin.
    • Microsoft Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Scrum, Git, and Gitflow.
    • Experience with the .Net platform, C#, and ETLBox is an asset.
    • Microsoft Azure is an asset.
  • Ability to conduct Scrum rituals and maintain various backlogs.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and convincingly.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written French and English, as the successful candidate will interact with clients whose primary language of business is either French or English.
