Financial Controller

Amid sustained growth and the ongoing evolution of our business practices, we are seeking a Financial Controller who will play a key role in overseeing the firm’s financial operations.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the selected candidate will ensure the quality of financial information, supervise accounting operations, drive continuous improvement of financial processes, and develop internal control mechanisms to support decision-making and organizational performance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise all activities related to the accounting cycle and ensure the quality of the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting team members for the performance of their daily tasks and their professional development.
  • Ensure the production, review and presentation of financial statements and management reports for senior leadership.
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual budget, financial forecasts and financial performance analyses.
  • Validate and interpret the financial analyses produced by the team.
  • Serve as a business partner to managers and senior leadership.
  • Oversee cash management and ensure effective cash flow planning.
  • Maintain and improve the internal control environment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for financial optimization, particularly regarding tax credits and grants.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Help prepare financial documentation for the executive committee and shareholders.
  • Participate in strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, administration or a related field.
    CPA designation.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting or auditing.
  • Open to candidates at accounting firms.
  • Experience in team management or supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of SAP (asset).
  • Proficiency in English and French.
